February PetBox Review and Discount Code

We were very excited to become PetBox Brand Ambassadors this year.  This means that we will share our monthly PetBox with you and may even offer a giveaway or two.  We were jumping for joy when we received our first PetBox this month because we love surprises and we could tell by the smell that it belonged to us.  PetBox is a monthly subscription for pets - both cats and dogs.  Each monthly box is filled with wonderful goodies such as toys, treats, good, grooming and hygiene products, and lots more.  Subscribers can opt to receive a "surprise" box or choose from a wide selection of pet products.  Monthly subscriptions plans range from $9.95-$59.95.
Brulee is impatient for Mom Paula to open the box

You'd never guess who was the first one to climb into the box when Mom Paula opened it?!?   Surprise! Surprise!  It was Truffle.  As if any of you didn't know.  MOL!

Just what did we get in our February PetBox?  As you can see on the carpet in the photo above and in the action photo below, we got one of the Yeowww! Heart Attack Catnip Toys.  Truffle goes wild (literally) over Yeowww! toys and was very excited to see a Valentine Heart in the PetBox for February.  Mom Paula tried her best to get a photo of Truffle playing with the Yeowww! Heart Attack Catnip Toy, but Truffle was rolling and rolling and this was the best we could do.  She did let Brulee lick it a little bit after she was finished playing.
Truffle claimed the Yeowww! Heart for herself.

Brulee's favorite toy was the Petnips Wobble Nip Cat Diffuser Toy filled with Priscilla's 100% Natural Cat Nip.  She batted it around the living room and didn't give Mom Paula an opportunity to capture it on film.  Next month, we'll make sure we have the video camera ready!
Brulee prior to whapping the wobble nip cat toy around

The Petnips Wobble Nip Cat Diffuser Toy dispenses a potent catnip aroma as we cats whap it around.  It also has a feather on top, which always attracts Brulee.  She LOVES feathers.  The toy has a cavity that is filled with catnip, which entices cats through an aroma that emulates through a series of small holes.  The toy is shaped like an egg, which keeps it moving, which is something we can't ignore.l  There is a small bag of catnip that comes inside the toy, but we chose to fill it with the potent Priscilla's 100% Natural Catnip.  This catnip is 100% organic and we really liked it.

What else did we get?  Here's a preview of the remaining items in our box.  We're sure we'll share additional photos as we try out each toy and eat the treats and food over the next couple of weeks.
Both Truffle and Brulee loved the Petlinks Scratcher

Petlinks Carpet Clawz Hanging Scratcher with Catnip Feather Ball Toy.  We haven't even hung this on a doorknob yet, but both Truffle and Brulee were immediately on it scratching away, so we're sure we'll use it a lot when we can stretch and scratch away.

A Sample of Royal Canin Indoor Adult 27 Dry Food.  We know Royal Canin is a good brand of cat food.  Our breeder was already feeding the kitten food to us and our vet highly recommends it.  We've been eating the Persian Formula, but are very excited to try the Indoor Adult 27 formula.  This formula is designed for us indoor kitties and aids in good dental health and management of those pesky hairballs.

Wellness Kittles Tuna and Cranberry Recipe Crunch Cat Treats.  We haven't tried these yet, but you know we love treats.  Truffle tends to have a little sensitivity to fish products, so we'll probably donate these to one of our kitty friends near us or take them to a local cat shelter with some other fish products we've received.  We do know the Wellness products are excellent because we eat their canned food all the time.

We were very happy with our PetBox for the month of February.  You can get your own PetBox and receive a 10% discount if you use the code sweetpurrfections when you check out.  You can click HERE or on the graphic on our sidebar to go the PetBox website.

What's Up, Rabbit?

Rabbit Treats, that's what!!

We were really excited to receive a package of the Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Minis Rabbit Formula Freeze Dried Treats from chewy.com to review this month.  We'd had the chicken and duck formula before but had no idea these yummy treats came in rabbit formula!
Brulee waiting for Mom Paula to open the package

These freeze-dried treats are all-natural, pure raw ingredients.  They are grain and gluten-free (hey, Mom Paula could eat these) that are made from real rabbit.  There is no corn, wheat, meat by-products, artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.  For those of you who are watching your feline figures, they are only 2 calories per piece.
Brulee and Truffle checking out the large bag of treats

These treats are available in duck, chicken, and rabbit formulas.  The rabbit formula is currently on sale at chewy.com for $7.19 and the duck and chicken formulas are on sale for $4.95.  We LOVE these treats.  There are a lot of pieces in the bag and we just can't get enough of them.  Mom Paula keeps a bag in the drawer of her nightstand in the bedroom.  As soon as Truffle wakes up in the morning, she starts meowing and moving towards the nightstand.
Truffle eating her treat

We always like to include the ingredients for our health conscience furriends.
Rabbit, Pork Liver, Pork Heart, Pumpkinseeds, Carrots, Apples, Butternut Squash, Ground Flaxseed, Montmorillonite Clay, Dried Kelp, Broccoli, Mixed Tocopherols, Apple Cider Vinegar, Salmon Oil, Rosemary Extract, Blueberries, Dried Chicory Root
Brulee will push Truffle out of the way to eat these treats.

We really do like these treats and love the fact that not only are they good for us, but they taste great. We've purchased the duck and chicken formulas on a regular basis in the past and will now add the rabbit formula to our shopping list.

Happy Birthday Mom Paula

Happy Birthday to Mom Paula.  We won't tell you how old she is, but she is getting within a year from being a sexagenarian!  We borrowed a graphic Ann from Zoolatry did for us for our blogoversary to make a card for Mom Paula since we don't have a recent photo of the three of us together.

Floofy Friday

Brulee says it's a good thing she has a lot of floof  to keep her warm.because of the major cold front that hit SC this week.  Who cares if that floof tends to go a little wild at times!  MOL!

Missing Sunshine

Truffle wants to know where all of the southern sunshine and warmth went.  It's not supposed to be this cold in SC.

We want to pause for a moment to wish our wonderful friend Mo a Happy Birthday.  Mo is in charge of keeping the CB going and for that, we are eternally grateful.  Mom Paula has met Mo in person and he really is a nice guy!  Happy Birthday Mo!

Brulee's Sock Bounty

Brulee has been very busy while Mom Paula was away.  She got into the pile of socks to be washed and carried several out into the hallway.  Looks like Truffle also got in the middle of the mischief by carrying her Tickle Gherkins into the hallway.
Brulee's Sock Bounty

Mom Paula:  This is exactly what I came home to last night.  Between the socks, the Tickle Gherkins, and the fur, my hallway was a mess.  I think Brulee was very proud of her bounty.

Mardi Gras Masks

We know we're not from New Orleans, but our names are based on New Orleans/French desserts, so we feel we qualify.  Beside, who doesn't want to have a good time and party.  Don't you just love our masks?
Brulee

Truffle

Mom Paula also joined in the fun and donned her New Orleans mask for the occasion.  Can you believe she agreed to do this without makeup?!?  That's just not the Southern thing to do!  MOL!

Sunday Selfie

Mom Paula joined Truffle for a special Valentine's Sunday Selfie (sponsored by The Cat on My Head) today.  If you look closely, you can see hearts on Mom Paula's pjs and there's also a kitty (but you can't see that).

We're Smitten

We received a new treat from chewy.com to try out and review recently.  We'd never heard of  Honest Kitchen Smittens, but we're here to tell you that they are delicious.
Brulee is ready for the box to be opened.

Honest Kitchen Smittens are pure, dehydrated Islandic haddock.  The only ingredient is dehydrated haddock.  These treats are not only good to eat, but they are purrfect for this time of the year because they are shaped like little hearts.
Truffle can't understand why the bag isn't opened yet.

Smittens are made from pure, wild, line-caught Haddock from the pristine waters off the coast of Iceland.  They are all-natural and grain-free treats.  The treats are high-protein, low-fat, and low-carb.  The best thing is that they are only 1.1 calories per treat, which is great for our ladycat figure. The interesting thing about these treats is the reaction they received from Brulee.

Brulee jumping in front of Truffle for her Smitten treat.

Usually Brulee sits patiently to the side while Truffle grabs the treats, but as soon as Brulee smelled the haddock, she jumped in front of Truffle to get to the heart-shaped treats.  We don't get too much "fish-flavored" food and/or treats because Truffle's tummy doesn't handle fish too well, but she didn't have a reaction to these fishy treats.
Brulee and the Smittens Treats

The Honest Kitchen Smitten treats are currently on sale at chewy.com for $13.71.  This is a little more expensive than your average treats, but in our honest opinion, these aren't average treats. As always, you can combine these treats with other delicious treats and food at chewy.com for great prices and free one-two day shipping (for orders of $49+).   We give these treats 4-paws up.
Truffle endorses the Smittens treats.

*Disclosure: Chewy.com gave us these treats for free in exchange for a review, but this did not influence our opinions. All opinions expressed in this post are our own, and we only share information that we feel is relevant to our readers.

Thankful Thursday

We're so thankful for the sunshine and warmer weather this past weekend.  It's supposed to get cold this weekend with highs only in the 30s and 40s.  We know that isn't cold for some of our furriends to the north of us, but for us Southern ladycats, it's cold.  At least we have plenty of floof to keep us warm.

Pee ess - we were schedule to have a review of some new treats we received from chewy.com, but Mom Paula fell asleep on the couch at 9:00 last night and didn't have time to do it.  We'll have it within the next two days - promise!

Pee pee ess- Mom Paula still hasn't put our track back together.

Mom Paula:  I just LOVE these girls and am so thankful they are in my life!

Please Fix It

Mom Paula moved all of our toys this past fall when she was getting us some new furniture.  We could understand it for a few minutes, but it's been a few months and she still hasn't put our track back together.  Can we get a new mom?

What a Beautiful Morning!

We've had one of those beautiful Southern weekends!  Highs in the 60s and sunshine.  Mom Paula actually opened the side door to let in the sunshine and we decided to hang out on the glass table (before Mom Paula could clean it off from doing taxes) and take it in before another cold snap arrives the end of the week.

Caturday Art Hop

We decided to try our paws at experimenting again with LunaPic and PicMonkey in order to participate in Athena and Marie's Caturday Art Hop.  Here is our original photo with no edits, recoloration, or cropping.
Brulee, Truffle

First we went to LunaPic and used the "needlepoint" effect.

We liked the look of this because Mom Paula has a cross stitch that her sister did over 20 years ago which is of a silver shaded Persian (how did she know that one day Mom Paula would have silvers?). Next, we went to PicMonkey and used the "frost effect" and added a light pink coloring to it.  For the frame, we went to the craft scissors and first did a white border and then added another more neutral scissor border.  We think these effects give our Caturday Art a vintage effect.
You may want to click on the photo to biggify it so you can see the effect.

We thought you'd enjoy seeing Brulee's wild and crazy floof today.

Time Tunnel

Truffle is looking through her time tunnel to a time three years ago in February 2012.

This photo was one of Mom Paula's favorites because it was a couple of days after Truffle had been spayed.  Mom Paula had to separate Truffle and Brulee for a little bit because Brulee wanted to play and Mom Paula was afraid that Truffle would open her stitches (even though they were internal).  Brulee was even locked in the bathroom for about 30 minutes because she wouldn't leave Truffle alone.  After Brulee was let out of the bathroom, this is what Mom Paula saw when she turned around from the computer.

Can we get a squeeeee?
