A Little Taste of the Wild #ChewyInfluencer

Brulee presenting Taste of Wild cat food

Disclosure - Taste of Wild cat food provided by Chewy.com

We always like to try different food with various proteins in order to keep us interested in eating can food.  Mom Paula learned the hard way with Sweet Praline that she couldn't feed one flavor or one brand because they change recipes or get discontinued.  This is one reason we like being members of the Chewy.com Blogger Outreach Program.  We're able to try out different brands of food to see what we can purchase in the future to help with our rotational diet.
Truffle eating Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Grain-Free Cat Food

We received a case of the Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Feline Formula® Grain-Free Cat Food recently from Chewy.com to review. We were interested in the protein included in the food.  This variety of the Taste of the Wild is grain-free and features real salmon, chicken liver, and roasted venison in gravy. The food is supplemented with vegetables and fruits that delivers antioxidants to help us keep a healthy lifestyle. We've never eaten venison before, so this was definitely a test for us. The food was chunks with gravy. Truffle ate most of the food.  Brulee licked all of the gravy, but did not eat the chunks (which is normal for her).  Taste of the Wild is available in two flavors:  Rocky Mountain Feline Formula® (salmon, chicken liver, and venison) and Canyon River Feline® Formula (trout and salmon). The two recipes of the Taste of the Wild feline formulas are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for growth and maintenance.

Taste of the Wild is available at Chewy.com.  The food is available in two sizes (3-oz and 5.5-oz) in cases of 24.  The cost is between $16.00 - $31.00.  If you purchase additional products from Chewy.com that total $49+, you receive free 2-day shipping.  The customer service at Chewy.com is outstanding.

    1. The food sounds delicious and what a treat for your girls to get variety. I know I have no trouble keeping my Kilo to pug always interested in wet food, that dog'll eat anything!

  6. I wonder if larger cats like 'chunky' food (as opposed to pate and mousse for smaller cats?) Our cats are not keen on chunky's - mostly but sometimes wolf it down. Weird eh?

  7. My dog Nelly has eaten mostly one brand and flavor of dog food for the last few years and it is becoming hard to find. Fortunately, we found another brand that she loves and doesn't have any issues with. You are smart to keep varying the foods you feed your cats!

  8. I'm somewhat familiar with Taste of the Wild from the dog world. I am glad to see can food for cats. As little as I might know about cats and cat nutrition, I do believe that low water content and high carb content are major issues in cat foods.

  9. I like to change proteins periodically to minimize allergies. Also like to change consistency from pate to chunky to shredded once in a while. Marty tends to get bored if he gets too much of the same for very long

  12. This sounds yummy! Your girls seem to enjoy it quite a bit. I try to get my cats to eat a lot of different things too. They have made it very clear to me that they only want chicken, but I try other things with them anyway. We will have to try this brand sometime.

  13. That is such a great idea - and the price is good, too!
Ricky is selective when it comes to his wet food.

  14. When I had cats ... one liked chunky the other three did not. Funny how that can be a thing.
